Hunter Valley Bridge #1 This area is a designated FLU Zone and regulations are in place. Hunter Valley Bridge Install #1 - Completed December 2006 This was the first of four 80 foot bridges to be installed in Waiparous. SRD provided the bridges and decking. Being the first installation of its kind by volunteers, this was an amazing success! Well over 30 volunteers participated and suffered the cold December weekend to see it finished! These bridges take more then just one weekend to prepare. Often times it takes at least two to three months for a whole crew of people to organize and prep the construction site then gather materials and volunteers. Machinery, tools and transportation for the them also needs to be coordinated by project leaders and volunteers. Special thank you to Dave Dunlop for organizing materials, machinery and heading up this project! Never before had volunteers taken on a project of this scope in the Ghost\Waiparous, and it sure was a sight to see the cranes lifting the bridges onto the work site. Thankfully, SRD was able to provide $20,000 towards the installation of all four bridges! Thank you to The Second Gear Club for providing all the hungry volunteers with food! Thank you to everyone who took the time to help with this project! Special thank you goes to the following: The Alberta United
Recreationists Society for their donation of $1000 Unfortunately, sign in sheets were damaged, please Email us and let us know if we forgot you or your club. Click on a picture to see a larger image.
